SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS. One-hour, two-hour, half-day or full-day seminars can be custom designed to meet the specific needs of your organization on a variety of popular recruitment and retention topics. Seminars can be presented in person or via teleconference (1-2 hours). Topics include:
* “Retaining Excellent Employees.” Retention strategies go beyond exit interviews and include leadership and motivation.
* “Recruiting, Retaining and Managing the Generations.” A close look at GenY, GenX, Baby Boomers and Matures focusing on how to recruit, retain and manage each group for retention in health care facilities. This is my most requested speaking topic. It is fun information to hear and essential information to know.
* “Calculating Replacement Costs.” The actual cost of replacing (not “cost per hire”) an RN or other worker is examined here.
* “Basic Data Collection, Tracking and Graphing.”
* “Common Hindrances to Effective Recruitment.” The biggest hindrances to effective recruitment might surprise everyone.
* “Fun and Humor in the Workplace.” It’s about time!
* “Who is responsible for recruitment?” Human Resources? Nursing? A Recruiter? Everyone?
* “A Collaborative Approach to Recruitment & Retention.” It is essential. Nursing and HR must work together seamlessly for success.
* “Is retention all about money?”
* “Is recruitment a sales job?”
* “Are signing bonuses effective?” What am I really incenting with a signing bonus?
* “Brochures and advertising.” Getting more for your advertising dollars.
WORKSHOPS. Any topic(s) can be presented in a workshop format with managerial staff.
ALL DAY SEMINARS. The same all-day seminars I have taught in 36 states can be brought to your facility. Or check upcoming seminar dates and cities. The two full day seminars are:
Ø “Recruitment & Retention Strategies for the Entire Health Care System: A Collaborative Approach.” This seminar incorporates all the topics above and more! It is designed to identify everyone who influences recruitment and retention. This seminar would be ideal as an “in-house” program if you are not able to attend on the upcoming dates. See in which cities I’ll be teaching in the near future.
Ø “Hire the Best, Leave the Rest.” That sounds easy but when applicant pools are small, finding the right person is a difficult task. Hiring the right employees is the absolute basis of any retention program, thus excellent interviewing skills are a must. When a hiring mistake is made, you not only lose the employee, but also those who surround the employee. In other words, a “bad hire” can cost you 20 employees!
Anyone involved in interviewing applicants needs this course. Even high-level executives will benefit greatly. This course comes with a complete manual containing pages of interview questions targeted to elicit specific information about specific desirable characteristics in applicants. The interview questions can be used to interview nurses, nursing assistants, managers, directors, executives and any other discipline you hire! This seminar is designed for health care and is appropriate for anyone involved in interviewing, including executives.
“Hire the Best, Leave the Rest” can also be a ½ day seminar or workshop.
